Gaelic Park, development of mixed commercial space and 43 luxury apartments
For those of you not familiar with Donegal, it is one of the most picturesque counties in Ireland, rivalling Kerry for its outstanding panoramic scenery and breathtaking natural landscapes. This friendly and relaxed atmosphere is a place where you can truly get away from it all, an ideal location to call home, be that all year round or for a summer residence.
Carndonagh is the natural hub of Inishowen and is surrounded by fantastic golden beaches and boasts a huge range of excellent outdoor pursuits, including fishing, shooting, horse riding, hill walking, swimming and golfing. The world renowned Ballyliffin Golf Club, boasting two full Championship Courses, is only 5 minutes drive from Gaelic Park. Overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, this fine club hosted the country’s biggest amateur tournament, the Inter Provincial Championship, last August, and was voted the best 36 holes in Ireland by Golf Digest in 2005.
Historically an important market town, Carndonagh is the principle shopping hub in Inishowen. In the most recent available survey, Carndonagh has the 3rd strongest grocery market in Donegal, exceeded only by Letterkenny and Donegal town. Carndonagh has seen rapid expansion in recent years. The town centre has undergone major development with new civic offices, a new road infrastructure and a remodelling of the popular "Diamond" town centre. Additionally, Carndonagh boasts one of the largest secondary schools in the country, with the surrounding areas of Clonmany, Ballyliffin, Malin, Malin Head, Culdaff, Gleneely, Glentogher and Muff, all encompassed in Carndonagh’s growing catchment area.
Additionally, Carndonagh is a mere 20 miles from the historic city of Derry (4th largest city in Ireland) and 40 miles from Letterkenny (one of the fastest growing towns in Europe, with all the high street names), both designated as "Link Gateway Centres".
